Pandas - A New Tourism Product

A wonder of nature paves the way to a good relationship between two countries. Recently loaned two giant pandas to Malaysia by China, seems to promise a greater influx of tourists in Malaysia from other countries. It also assures of a healthy relationship between the two countries, since China is very selective about whom they lend their pandas to.

Pandas in MalaysiaTourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen believes that the pandas would be a great source of attraction for Malaysia's tourism industry, especially for the "Cuti-Cuti Satu Malaysia" program with many people coming to see the real life pandas. She has assured special care of the pandas, which will be specially undertaken by the Environment and National Resources Ministry in collaboration with specialists from China. All aspects of pandas, from taking care to hopefully producing babies, will be done under strict supervision.  The loan request was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his visit to Nanning in April. In order to further enhance this 38 year old diplomatic relationship, China decided to lend two pandas to Malaysia.

Tourist Attraction in MalaysiaExpected to boost Malaysia tourism, this information was delivered by the tourist minister at the launch of the "Eighth Malaysia Festival of the Mind" by the Malaysia Mental Literacy Movement (MMLM) at the Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) main campus. This festival would help the public to have a rare opportunity to gain practical exposure on the brain enrichment, mind mapping and memory enhancement techniques from the mind experts.

A hope for greater tourism and a unique way to strengthen ties, pandas surely serve here as a medium to maintain a cordial alliance between these two countries.
