1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival

Mark the dates in your diaries, the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival is back. Rolling in on the 29th of June, the sale offers shoppers a grand total of 64 days, until the 1st of September, to avail of nationwide discounts at luxury as well as affordable retailers. This grand shopping extravaganza aims to unite people and institutions across Malaysia, while giving a boost to the Malaysian economy.  As one of the three major annual sale events in Malaysia, the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival encourages shoppers to shop, eat and celebrate, as they bag bargain after bargain and enjoy many fun-filled activities.
Shopping is an integral part of Malaysia’s tourism industry. The country is in fact known for its plethora of shopping options and relatively reasonable prices. Even the city’s landmark shopping destinations like the Central Market, street markets and pasar malams(night markets) like Petaling Street and Jalan TAR,  get into the act as vendors offer attractive rebates to the shopping hordes in the spirit of the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival.

A similar scene plays out in Penang, another favored tourist hotspot, where retail hubs like Queens Bay Mall, Gurney Plaza, Georgetown and Little Penang Street Market beckon tourists to shop up a storm while gorging on the city’s famous hawker eats like Asam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Nasi Kandar and other mouth-watering nibbles. Visitors to Malacca, Langkawi, Kuantan and various other popular Malaysian destinations can also expect such a bonanza of deals offered with invites to shop, eat and play.
